Gio Goes Below The Belt With Collin O’Neal!

I had the pleasure of being invited on the set of Collin O’Neal’s latest shoot for his website www.collinoneal.net this past week while shooting at a private home in Fort Lauderdale.  He was shooting two new scenes for his site and in between scenes; he sat down with me for a very revealing interview.  I can assure you that after watching the first scene being shot (a 3-way with Jesse Balboa, Michael Fox and Rodin getting it on pool side) that Collin has a keen eye for capturing men at their absolute best!  Here is a behind the scenes photo I took of the shoot in progress. 

Collin is well known throughout the world for his work in porn and as you will discover, he also has a keen business sense.  A resident of Miami for the past 11 years, O’Neal spends a lot of time traveling the world for both personal and professional reasons.   He may be a self proclaimed “shy” man off camera; But O’Neal sheds that persona while performing in front of the camera and has become one of the most well recognized gay porn stars of today.  He is now taking the internet by storm with his website which depicts men of all types shot in real locations throughout the world.

GIO     Collin, thank you for taking the time to sit down and do this interview in between shooting your scenes for Collin O’Neil.net! 

Collin You are very welcome Gio and it is my pleasure!  Sorry for all the distractions (Big laugh as a hot naked man walks by). 

GIO     No problem!  I can deal with those types of distractions (Both laugh).  So, let’s go back in history a little…how long have you been in the porn industry? 

Collin 3 ½ years. 

GIO     And what made you decide to get into the adult industry? 

Collin Ummm…I never wanted to get into the adult industry to be honest (Big Laugh.  It happened when my boyfriend at the time ran me into the ground financially…and he used to do porn and so I decided the easiest way to get money quick was to do porn and so that is how I got into it. 

GIO     Interesting…so you went in for the money and… 

Collin Yeah, it was supposed to be temporary. 

GIO     Gotcha, well here you are 3 ½ years later and one of the most popular stars of today (he blushes), you even made my Top 50 Most Beautiful Men in Porn list last year!

Collin That was very nice of you to select me to be included!  But, I am not all that! 

GIO     I beg to differ, you are very hot!  You are also very intelligent and have taken yourself to a whole new level with the launch of your website Collin O’Neal.net.  Tell the readers what they can expect if they subscribe to your site?

Collin Well they will not find this South Florida shoot on there right away.  But, they will find great scenes from my trip to Europe.  My scenes provide a great mix…from the hairy daddy types to boyish types to Latinos, black guys…everything is on there.  It is a mix of stuff and not just one type of guy.  So you get muscle guys, thin guys and in-between.  The common theme is they are all masculine and they will have some appeal to everybody 

GIO     Excellent!  I thoroughly enjoyed the site myself!  I understand you are trying to shoot your sense in a more “real” world setting, rather than studio sets like many of the big studios.  You stuff is shot more on location and it is cool.  What do you think will set you apart from all the other porn websites that are out there? 

Collin Well working in the porn industry in front of the camera I found that many of the shoots were very planned out from scripts to locations being created to look “real” and I wanted to bring more of a reality to the porn I shoot.  When I went to London I ran into a bunch of cool people that had some very cool locations to offer me.  I shot one scene in the London Underground where the market stalls used to be and the current London is built on top of.  I shot in little tiny office spaces, some very old buildings, dark and dingy clubs and even a lesbian club.  During that shoot the lesbians were sitting in an office watching the action on their security cameras (Laughs).  So I just try to find different and unique locations that are naturally there and so that is why I am a little different than others. 

GIO     Very cool!  For all your fans out there, what percentages of the videos on your site have you participating in the action?

Collin About 60% to 70% of the streaming videos will contain a scene with me in it right now.  I am trying to gear my site to not just be all about me, but rather what I like to watch in porn.  So, basically I am trying to my best to film porn that I would jerk off too and enjoy watching.  I also have some stuff about me on the site and I have had a lot of comments from people that they like the scene stories that I write to go along with streaming video.  I like to write the stories as part of the site and not just post a scene up there. 

GIO     Well you are doing a great job with it! 

Collin Thank you Gio, that means a lot coming from you! 

GIO     I feel the love (Both laugh)!  As you stated earlier, you did not go into porn because you wanted to but because you needed to money.  After 3 ½ years in the business and launching your own website it is obvious that you found some enjoyment in this business; what has been most enjoyable, for you?

Collin The reason I continue to work in it because I find satisfaction in it now.  At first I just wanted to slip in and slip out (Laughter)…no pun intended.  My first video was with Hot House, who I was under contract with at the time. They took my images and put them everywhere!  You could not go into a gay area in NYC, LA or San Francisco without seeing my poster all over the place.  So basically, I could not slip out of it so easy after that, my face was plastered everywhere.   

So, I kept doing it for fun and only with guys that I really wanted to do it with.  During this period I was finding other hot guys to do porn and I was giving them over to the studios and I thought to myself I could perhaps do this on my own.  I continue to work with studios with some of my models because I know I cannot keep all the hot guys to myself, and I never wanted to be an agent (Big laugh) because I see what Howard (FabScout Entertainment) goes through and I really could not do what he does.  So basically, I decided I wanted to make money off of my own image rather than others getting all the money. 

GIO     Being that your image is so widely recognized in the gay community for your porn persona, what is it like being recognized for you when you are out in public?

Collin To be honest I am a very shy person and I do like my personal life and I like to be low key.  In Miami, where I’ve lived now for 11 years, I can maintain my low key sense of self because people are used to seeing me.  Now, when I go to NYC, come up here to Fort Lauderdale, LA, San Francisco and especially Paris and London I cannot walk in the gay areas without being stared down and recognized.  Paris is the most intense; I guess there has been a lot of marketing of me over there.  For me, it is intimidating having people stare at me and whisper.  So, when I go out in those areas I always ask a friend to go with me to give me that little bit of security because I get very nervous.   That sounds odd I guess, but I do not go around with a big star on the back of my head pretending to be famous like Britney Spears and all that and a bag of chips…I am just a normal nice guy who is a bit shy (Big Laugh). 

GIO     Well you are much better looking than Britney in my book!  Besides Hot House, what other studios have you worked with? 

Collin Chi Chi LaRue quite a bit, she is one of my really good friends in the Industry.  I most recently worked with Raging Stallion and that is going to be a great scene with Francois Sagat, he is totally hot!  I did two movies for Falcon and I did one movie for All Worlds Video and one with Owen Hawks Dark Alley Media. 

GIO     Do you know the title of your latest film with Raging Stallion? 

Collin No, I do not know what it is called yet.  All I know is that it has something to do with jocks and a gym.  Hey…if they end up calling it “Jocks and a Gym” after reading this, they need to pay me for that title! (Big Laugh) 

GIO     Who directed the film? 

Collin It was directed by Michael Brandon, he was great! 

GIO     Yes, Michael is a great guy.  So besides the porn industry what are you passionate about in life? 

Collin Traveling…I have been all over the world and I continue to go to new places whenever I get the chance.  I love to see other cultures and experience other countries. 

GIO     What is your favorite culture that you have experience thus far? 

Collin People may give me slack about this, but I really like the Middle East.  I used to live in Lebanon and I love the culture and I love the people and it is really not a scary place where things get bombed all the time like you see in the media.  The people over there are the nicest people, they invite you into their homes and feed you and they are just so happy to meet you because you are an American and a foreigner. 

GIO     Wow, that is awesome.  Is there a particular place that you have not been too yet that you really want to visit? 

Collin Ummm…Mongolia and there is a lot of Africa that I have not been to yet and those are on the top for me at the moment. 

GIO     Not too sound cheesy, and because I have got to know you a little bit, but you are a very likable person and even though you say you are a little shy, it is apparent that once you are comfortable you are a very easy person to get along with.  In your personal life, if you care to share, do you have a desire to enter into another long term committed relationship in the future or are you just focused on business these days? 

Collin Right now I am very focused on my business and right now, even if I had time, I do not think it would be fair to my boyfriend with everything I have going on in my life right now.  I am making a big push right now and there is going to be a very big press release announced soon with even more news about me that I cannot reveal yet.  So, I just cannot commit to anyone right now.  There have been special people in my life and there is one person that knows if he came knocking at the door that he would be welcomed back in.  But, when I am with somebody I am monogamous and totally committed to that person. 

GIO     Very well put.  If I were to ask your two closet friends what your best quality is, what would they tell me? 

Collin Umm…my ability to land on my feat no matter how bad a situation is.  It encompasses my ability to use my intelligence and wit to get what I need in life.  

GIO     That is a good quality.  What would they say is your biggest opportunity for improvement? 

Collin My temper (laughs) 

GIO     Boxers or briefs? 

Collin Briefs if not anything at all.

GIO     The commando side of you (Both laugh).  Are you more of a romantic or aggressor? 

Collin It all depends, I like both and I can be both.  I do not think you have to choose between the two and I know a lot of people think you have to be one way or the other.  But, for me I like being both. 

GIO     Well that is a tribute to that well rounded personality that you have.  Lights on or off during sex? 

Collin On, I want to see my sex! 

GIO     Is there a particular scene on your site that stands out as a favorite for you? 

Collin Yeah, the scene with Forneus and I on the site is totally hot.  We started against a chain link fence and then ended up on a pool table and the viewers will really be able to tell we had passion for each other while shooting.  I really enjoyed the sex with him!

GIO     So the balls were flying! (Big laugh)   

Collin Oh, and that pool table still has Forneus’s cum on it to this day.  It was filmed in the club Sub Station South in London. 

GIO     One of my favorite things to watch in porn is the bloopers.  Is there anything that has ever happened to you while filming that stands out as funny or embarrassing? 

Collin Nothing that stands out…but I need to talk to my editor about that because I know a lot of people really like watching the bloopers and I should add them to my site.  There are some behind the scenes stuff that I think people would find interesting or funny. 

GIO     Well I know we are running out of time and you need to shoot your next scene.  I appreciate you taking the time to do this interview and allowing me to take the hot photos of you!
