Gio Goes Below The Belt With Mega Hunk ZEB ATLAS

2003’s Men Magazine Man of the Year and Body Image Productions sensation Zeb Atlas amazed audiences over Labor Day Weekend at Boardwalk, Coliseum and Voodoo Lounge.  Zeb Atlas is known worldwide and is considered one of the most beautiful male erotic performers today.  Although he does not perform hardcore in his videos, his solo performances have become legendary.  He now operates his own website – www.zebatlas.com where fans can get up-close and personal with him.  I had the pleasure of sitting down with Zeb prior to his show at Voodoo Lounge, (while he was getting body painted) for an exclusive interview coordinated by David Forest of www.forestmen.com.  

GIO  Welcome to South Florida, I understand this is your first time performing here? 

ZEB  Yes it is. 

GIO  How do you like it here? 

ZEB  I love it! (He grins) It is very hot here…and humid though! 

GIO  I understand you are from Portland, Oregon, did you grow up there? 

ZEB  Yes, that is where I grew up and now I live in Las Vegas. 

GIO  Sin City…I love Vegas.  It is hot there too…but it is a dry heat (both laugh).  Were you very athletic as a young man? 

ZEB  Yeah, I played basketball, baseball and I was actually a very good golfer at one time, believe it or not! 

GIO  I believe it.  Were you popular in school? 

ZEB  I would say average popularity, I mean I got along with everybody…but I was not overly popular, I was pretty quiet and reserved. 

GIO  How did you get into modeling for fitness magazines? 

ZEB  I got recognized from a body building show. I got a call and they asked me to model and the rest is history.  I just sort of took it from there after they found me, so to speak.   

GIO  From there what made you decide that going into the adult industry would be a good move for you? 

ZEB  Well basically how I started was an erotic photographer named Ron Lloyd found me at a body building show and I posed for photos, first as a start.  After that, it turned into doing other stuff. 

GIO  So that turned into the Body Solo Video series by Body Image Productions? 

ZEB  Exactly, Ron Lloyd runs that studio.

GIO  Now you have your own website www.zebatlas.com, what can your fans expect if they join your site? 

ZEB  Well that is basically where they will see me from now on.  It has exclusive material on there with over 1,000 photos, over 13 videos, location shoots from all around the world with different photographers, my diary is on there and I appear live on the web cam.  So, you know…it is a lot of stuff for people to see. 

GIO  What would you consider is your best attribute? 

ZEB  I would say it is a combination of good looks and being muscular.  I have an aesthetic physique that is not too big, but proportionate and looks good. 

GIO  Well you do have an amazing physique, how often are you in the gym each week? 

ZEB  About 4-5 days a week, I also do cardio a lot when I am not in the gym. 

GIO  When you did your first solo video, what was that experience like? 

ZEB  It was great, I found in myself that I was a natural in front of a camera and I love performing, so it was fun (He gives a large grin)… so this is what I was meant to do I guess. 

GIO  Well you are very good at it!  How many solo videos have you done so far? 

ZEB  uh… well on my website I have 13 and counting everything else, probably around 17 total.

GIO  Do you think you will ever do anything more hardcore? 

ZEB  Well I might, it depends on the right situation and the right person to work with.  So it all depends on a lot of factors. 

GIO  Understandable, do you ever watch your own videos or critique yourself? 

ZEB  Yeah, I just watch them one time and then I move on (laughs)…mainly to see how my body looks and if I am keeping myself at my best. 

GIO  When I watch porn I often like to watch the blooper scenes, is there a funny moment that has ever happened to you while filming that you can share? 

ZEB  Well just little things mainly.  Like when I was filming outside at this farm in Toronto and I got hay in my ass, stuff like that.  Or a funny smell when you are trying to do an erotic scene on a farm and that makes it kind of hard to get in the mood with the smell of stuff like that. 

GIO  (Both laughing) There is nothing like Cow Manure to get one in the mood!  Ewwww…  Speaking of cows, if you had to describe yourself as an animal, what would you be and why? 

ZEB  Hmm, probably a Lion because they are the king of the jungle.  Or, a Grizzly Bear because they are big and massive and they are also gentle and friendly as well. 

GIO  Interesting that you would say a bear.  In the 2^nd photo shoot you did for Men Magazine, after you were named Man of the Year, you were fully hairy.  However, all of your other images are smooth.  Why do you shave your body so often? 

ZEB  Well I like both to be honest.  I keep myself smooth because it shows more         muscle definition.  But I do grow it out and I am hairy about 20% of the time         these days. 

GIO  That’s cool, I like the hairy look.  Boxers or Briefs? 

ZEB  (laughs) Oh, well…depending on the situation really.  Physically I prefer boxers, but for performing I do own a lot of jocks, briefs and sexy underwear.  So, I wear both.  

Side note:  While interviewing Zeb, he was only wearing RHEB mini-briefs and they looked amazing on him.  Here is one of my photos taken right after the interview ended, can you say YUMM!?!?

GIO  Dogs or Cats? 

ZEB  Well I prefer dogs, but I have two cats because I travel so much and it is a little easier to have cats at home.  But, I like all animals in general. 

GIO  If I were to ask two of your closest friends what they consider to be the best attribute of Zeb Atlas, what would they tell me? 

ZEB  hmmm… Probably that I am kind, generous, laid back and that I am there for them when they need me.   

GIO  What would they tell me is your biggest opportunity for improvement? 

ZEB  Oh, probably that I spread myself too thin and that I do too much for people. 

GIO  Do you get recognized in public often and if so is it ever awkward for you?

ZEB  I do get recognized every now and then and it is not very awkward to me.  I do not mind people coming up and saying hi.  One time I was in a grocery store in West Hollywood and this guy recognized me and wanted me to autograph his chest with a sharpie right there in the aisle, so I did it. 

GIO  That is kind of fun actually!  Tell me about being named the 2003 Men Magazine Man of the Year, and how that has affected your career.  

(He shared the title with Nate Christianson) 

ZEB  It was great and it was amazing publicity for me.  It has opened many doors for me and created more of an…I don’t want to say a name…but I guess made me better known.  

GIO  I hear that you and Matthew Rush will be back down here and performing together in November over Thanksgiving weekend.  I know you two were scheduled together a couple times and I think one of those was cancelled….

ZEB  Yeah, we have done one show together so far Albuquerque, the other show was cancelled. 

GIO  Is he good to perform with? 

ZEB  Yeah, he is great and he is very sexy! 

GIO  What can the fans expect when seeing the two of you perform together? 

ZEB  Well…a very erotic show for sure…so come out and enjoy! (He gives me a wink and smile) 

GIO  I will be there for sure! What the best part of performing live for you?

ZEB  Mainly it is the interaction with the fans, having them up close and knowing that they are having a good time.  All of that is very gratifying for me. 

GIO  How often are you on the road performing? 

ZEB  I am out about 12-15 days a month performing. 

GIO  Where do you see yourself going in the next 5 years, and what is the next big thing for you? 

ZEB  hmmm…well I want to grow the website and I want to become the world’s best erotic performer. 

GIO  Well you are on your way for sure.  What is your favorite color? 

ZEB  I don’t know…it changes all the time. (Laughs) Corduroy or plaid… I don’t know…silver, black or red I guess.

DaisyMadonna or Brittney? 

ZEB  Madonna for sure! (Daisy was pleased with this answer!) 

GIO  Is there anything else that you would like to share with your fans before we go? 

ZEB  Just thanks for being there!  I really appreciate all of you! 

GIO  Thank you very much!  I appreciate you taking the time…and multi-tasking by being body painted at the same time.

Zeb Atlas has also posted his profile on BigMuscle.com and has amassed a huge following from what I can see. This profile attracts over 1,000 visitors a day.  For someone who was not the most popular kid in school, he is sure making up for it now!  It seems that he has received so many Emails and Short Messages at BM that he may never be able to reply to everyone.   Despite numerous requests for more hairy-chested photos of Zeb Atlas, he actually prefers to shave, as he stated in my interview, because it shows his definition.  He even did a video of himself shaving his chest (click for a videos). Amazingly, the Big Muscle fans seem to prefer his personal natural and raw photos from home rather than the primped and polished photos done by professionals.
