Just
Say Love is a stage to screen adaptation that explores whether
physical attraction appears to be the obvious explanation for two
people pairing up. Doug is working as a carpenter on a construction
job, helping to build expensive condos. He pauses for lunch, and
sits next to Guy, who's reading a b ok about Plato. Guy attempts to
elucidate, but his efforts are fruitless.
Doug is a straight man looking for casual sex and has heard that gay
men haunt the upscale neighborhood, and he was hoping for some
afternoon delight.
Guy is taken in by Doug's affable
manner, if not his boorish charm, and they begin a casual
flirtation. In this male love story, the bliss described by sages
throughout the millennia is a practical option for finding
happiness. Physical attraction appear to be the obvious explanation
for two people to become a pair. But are they really the reflection
of sublime everlasting or dare we say, spiritual? As the camera
delves into the character's minds and actions we find fulfillment on
both a physical and spiritual level. Ultimately making us question,
whether relationships start in the bedroom or in the heart? |

Francesca
and her younger sister, Antoniette, are as different as day and
night. By day, Francesca holds the household together and earns a
living operating her own taxi at night. Antonietta, however, is a
rebellious teenage and desperately wants to get away from the grey
confinement of their Cologne Suburb and with her musician boyfriend
decides to run away. This send a concerned Francesca in the search
of her.
During her search, Francesca rescues the lovesick Gerlinde from a
car wreck. The two forge a connection and Gerlinde accompanies
Francesca on her journey to Holland to find her sister.
Rotterdam, a city of contrasts between
village and metropolis, is where their paths lead them. The place
becomes the symbol for their lives, where all three women have to
let go of their old beliefs.
The three lost souls reveal themselves through their secrets on this
emotional journey and it becomes harder to distinguish who needs the
others the most. This film has be heralded by critics as "An
intriguing, challenging non-traditional view of modern women's lives
& loves." At its core, Vivere is about the decisiveness to live
one's dreams and desires, instead of dying for them. |

Recently
broken up and barely enduring dreary winter, gay Parisian Jerome
Beaunez impulsively books a solo Christmas vacation to Los Angeles.
Landing in the touristy underbelly of Hollywood, Jermome meets some
colorful locals and pursues a dormant desire to become a movie star.
Very soon thereafter, he becomes disillusioned since the public
transit suck, his hostel is a dump, and instead of getting laid, he
can't stop thinking about his ex, Gilles. In this reflection on love
and narcissism across continents, Jerome ultimately arrives at an
old Hollywood maxim there's no place like home.
Bright, funny honest and utterly charming, Hollywood Je T'Aime is a
stunning
debut for director Jason Bushman.
Bushman wrote the lead role for his friend Eric Debets who had
always talked of acting while working in a dead-end office job in
France. In this his first screen performance, we see a star being
born. His classic look and an amusing ease with his own awkwardness
bring to mind Buster Keaton and Marcel Marceau. Featuring the
stunning and talented out actor Chad Allen in a supporting role as a
well-connected pot dealer. Told with a profound appreciation of
showbiz absurdity and big-hearted charm at every trun, Hollywood Je
t'aime is delightfully funny, hugely entertaining and unlike
anything you've ever seen. |
