Fashion
Versace Tens Years Later
This
week marked the ten year anniversary of the legendary
Gianni Versace by the crazed gunman hell-bent on
revenge, Andrew Cunanan. The fashion world was left almost
devastated by the news that he was shot on the steps of his
now infamous South Beach palace. We have recouped the
losses, with his sister Donnetella now at the helm
of the empire, we are able to laugh, love, and comically
quote the line from Showgirls, It’s Ver-say-suh.
Well, Milan, the fashion capital of Italy, has decided
to pay tribute to him by hosting a star-studded ballet
performance at La Scala. Written by Maurice
Bejart, Thank You Gianni With Love and features
many designed by Gianni himself years ago.

Between The Pages
Our Gay
Wedding Day
Did
you ever play with your sisters Barbies and secretly
have Ken get married? Well, now, you can see the ENTIRE
wedding in William Giancursio’s Our Gay Wedding
Day which is a lyrical look at a fictitious gay
male couple who decide to get married. The amazing part
of this photo album is that all of the approx. 180
photographs were created in miniature using action
figures and dolls—including a 90210 Jason
Priestly. Countless hours of time went into building
sets, making costumes and props, and staging and
shooting the photographs. As the story unfolds, it is
the morning of the wedding and follows the couple
throughout the day. In a broader political sense, “Our
Gay Wedding Day” celebrates diversity and takes a closer
look at toys and play strategy from a gay point of
view. For more information about this book go to
http://www.lulu.com/content/311080.
