Celebrates 10 Years of Salvation
Posted 10/1/2009
5:00 PM
Dear Friends:
It was exactly ten years ago, in October 1999 during a
trip to Montreal for the Black and Blue Festival that I
became one of the owners of the legendary Salvation on
Miami Beach. Over the next few years I was privileged
to work with some of the most talented DJ's and
performers in the business, building up a cherished
relationship with Salvation's resident DJ Abel and our
house diva, Power Infiniti. Those were truly magical
times in South Beach - when thousands of party goers
would pack Level on a Friday, Salvation on a Saturday
and Liquid and then Crobar on a Sunday. I have so many
fabulous memories of those parties and I'm truly blessed
to have become friends with many wonderful people
(including YOU) that we met both on and off the
dancefloor. While some have subsequently moved away, or
don't go out clubbing as often as they once did, each
birthday when we did the Salvation Reunion Party, I was
delighted to see how many Salvation regulars would show
up. I'm hoping that this Saturday, my friends will make
a similar effort to come out for a special event.
When we resurrected the name for the monthly party we
now do at Score, we re-invented the brand. Abel
developed a sound for these parties that was truly
unique - and our guest DJ's have done an admirable job
of keeping that sound intact when they spin the
event. But this particular party Abel wants to take us
on a journey that encompasses the entire 10 years we've
been working together and he's spent the past few days
in the studio preparing brand new remixes of some
familiar songs.
So please join us this Saturday, October 3rd as we party
like it's 1999 - a special SALVATION themed event when
Abel, Power and myself CELEBRATE ten years of
collaboration that began during the heydays of Salvation
Miami Beach. The music will transport you back to that
magical time, updated in a timeless manner, with plenty
of current music thrown in for good measure.
There will be several surprise performances during the
night - with Power doing a show as the room opens, just
like we did back in 1999. So make sure you get there
early.
We are hoping to see all our friends - old and new -
including many who we hope will dust off their dancing
shoes and re-live the memories one more time. I
sincerely hope to see you on the dancefloor
